Whether you’re a young or senior adult, single, or married with kids, you’ll feel encouraged by the authentic community we have at The Door. You can visit as many times as you want without any obligations or pressure. And who knows—you just might decide to make The Door your new church home! As you plan your visit, here are some things to know.
Where are you located and what are the service times?
The Door Church Katy is located at 1837 N. Mason Rd. Katy, TX 77449.
At The Door we promote a "come as you are" atmosphere. We can't clean ourselves up first and then come to church. Jesus is the one that washes us clean. We just need to come and let God work on us. So, whatever you feel comfortable in (formal, informal and casual), come as you are.
Worship is upbeat and contemporary and led by our worship band. Then we pray, meet and greet, and hear a Biblical based sermon that we can apply to our everyday lives. And at the end we always want to extend the opportunity for someone to receive salvation through Jesus if they want to.
What should i wear?
Come as you are. We are a casual church. You will find a range of dress styles from jeans and t-shirts, to suits and dresses. So come dressed in what makes you feel comfortable and you will fit right in. You're among family here!
Do I need a bible?
If you own a Bible you will want to bring it. Our pastors preach textual based sermons that simply teach the Bible and how it applies to our everyday lives. They will refer to it often – and even encourage you to mark it up as your life-textbook. If you don’t have one, just ask one of the hosts or ushers, we have plenty set aside for you.
Our pastors teach from what is known as the New King James Version Bible (NKJV). If you have another version you are used to or prefer, bring it along. The differences from version to version are mostly minor. Having an NKJV will simply make it easier to follow along when our pastors read or point out the wording in a particular verse or passage.
Also, the scriptures are put up on the screens for your convenience.
We love kids! Our trained team of background checked volunteers help teach kids about Jesus and how much He loves them each week. The children’s ministry team, Children's Church & Nursery, will have you register your kids, ages infants – 11 years old (Nursery 0 - 3, Children's Church 4 - 11, and Young Servants 12 - 14), when you arrive. If your child needs you for any reason during the service, a member of the children's ministry team will text you or come find you.
Where do i go for help once i get there?
Once you arrive you will be welcomed by one of our greeters – they are near the entrance next to the visitor sign-in booth. They will be more than happy to answer questions, help you find the right classrooms for your children and even escort you to where you need to go.
what's the best way to start getting connected?
We'd love to meet you! Our church services are always designed to welcome visitors. Come learn more about who we are, ask any questions you have, spend time with our pastor and staff, and join one of our small groups to meet new people.
